Who we are.

ConceptShell Foundation is a community-centered creative nonprofit that works at the intersection of art, design, and equity. We partner closely with nonprofits, tribal organizations, and grassroots groups through collaborative, relationship-driven processes that honor culture, lived experience, and local knowledge. As a sister organization to ConceptShell Art and Design Studio, the Foundation exists to remove barriers to high-quality creative support while building paid, real-world learning opportunities that strengthen both organizations and people.

Meet our founder

ConceptShell Foundation was founded by Shayla Hufana, a Filipino-American designer, artist, and community advocate who believes creativity should be accessible, paid, and rooted in care. As the child of immigrants, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and a mother of two, Shayla was raised with the values of generosity, equity, and giving back—principles that continue to shape her work today. With years of experience leading ConceptShell Art and Design Studio, she created ConceptShell Foundation as its sister nonprofit arm to expand community impact beyond client-based work. Through the Foundation, Shayla supports under-resourced nonprofits while creating real, paid creative pathways for emerging artists and students, using design and storytelling as tools for connection, opportunity, and collective growth.
